If I get PHN, how long will it last and how much will I suffer?

PHN, like Shingles itself, varies enormously. For some, it is no more than a minor annoyance;
for others it is a disabling misery. Most people get over it within a few weeks or months; for an
unfortunate few however, the pain can last for many years and in some cases indefinitely.
